As the traffic on my blog increases, my time in Iraq is decreasing. Since I won't have as much first hand "Army stuff" to post about, I'm offering my blog as a place for warriors still in theater to tell about the stuff you don't see on TV.
This is the first of those posts.............
This is Hodge, a National Guardsman from Pennsylvania, winning the war one lollipop at a time.
Here's an email and some pics from Travis, an Army Infantry Captain.
As I was driving through Tal Afar one day, everyone said they had a bad feeling about this soccer field, lots of older kids giving us dirty looks, etc.
I rolled down the window and started speaking Arabic, and everyone's demeanor changed. I've attached some pics.
Words, not guns, sometimes.
I'll be back on the ground again in a day or two, headed back to Tal Afar.
Take care,
Travis
