Tips for Troops (And Gloves Too!)
Based on a suggestion from 'Some Soldiers Mom' at http://www.somesoldiersmom.blogspot.com, I've put a Tip Jar on my blog. If you would like to donate a couple bucks to our troops (or to me if you're family :-)), just click on the "Tip Jar" link on the right side of the page and you can donate the amount of your choice to my PayPal account. There is a place where you can send a message and let me know what you'd like the donation to be used for. Its just that simple. "No muss, no fuss", as Some Soldiers Mom told me. Of course, you will have to sign up for a PayPal account if you don't already have one. PayPal is free however, and only sends you email regarding your account, no spam. It is perfectly safe and used by thousands if not millions of people. PayPal is owned by Ebay and is one of the primary ways to pay for items on their auction site.
I know I haven't posted much lately, but I've been pretty busy. I can tell you that I have received and distributed most of the gloves that have been sent for my mechanics. The guys love them and put them to use immediately.
Thank you very much to my parents, Mike and Leslie Bell, Rich and the guys at Cadillac Truck Center, MKL from http://southernbyblog.blog-city.com/, Scott Hooten and Brenden McWilliams.
We've also had some interesting things go on lately. One of my medics and several of my troops saved an Iraqi mans life. He had been shot by insurgents on the outskirts of Baghdad. We also distributed medicine, toys, food and hygiene items to a needy neighborhood in the city. I'll have photos and more details on the Iraqi man and the needy neighborhood in a later post.
More to come in the next few days.
Charlie Mike,
Micah
